The carafe is made out of stainless steel and every other part is pretty durable and study. It isn’t the most compact machine (measures 7.1 x 12.2 x 15.4 inches in dimensions), but is pretty lightweight (weighs 6.5 pounds). Looks wise, the Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 Coffee Brewer goes somewhere along the lines of modern meets retro and vintage.
Power
Performance and power factors in this machine is pretty awesome. The copper boiling element. (single most important part of the whole coffee maker that’s responsible for making those excellent cups) can reach a soaring temperature of 196° to 206°, which is optimal for getting the best out of your coffee ground. Resulting in the extraction of natural flavor and sweetness of the beans, without giving allowing in that bitter, burnt and acidic aftertaste.
The shortfall of this machine would be its water temperature issue where the machine fails to regulate water temperature (for example: when hot water is poured in, it gets piping hot. When cold water is poured, and it gets just hot). This can be pretty inconvenient and can result in inconsistent results.
Capacity
The Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 Coffee Brewer can make as much as 10 ounces of coffee. That said, you can also opt to make as little as you like.
Ease of use
Apart from its lightweight, the Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 Coffee Brewer is also very easy to operate. It in fact has no button to do all any fancy stuff, simply switch on the power button and it gets to work. Its plastic components are all BPA-free and are so easy to clean. It also features a manually adjustable drip-stop basket which allows users to control the pour and therefore, the intensity of the brew.
Probably one of our favorite features is the hot plate. The hot plate is what the carafe thermal flask sits on, and this Coffee Brewer actually has a heated hot plate! Furthermore, the temperature of the hot plate is kept between 80°C to 85°C to ensure that the coffee stays hot while not losing any of its flavor complexities. And finally, the Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 also comes with auto shut/off mechanism.
Credibility & Warranty
The Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 Coffee Brewer is approved by the ECBC. In other words, this machine follows and meets the standards and guidelines of the European Coffee Brewing Center. Every order or the Technivorm also comes with a 5-year warranty.
